Forth Concept - Change- LGBT

                                                                  CHANGE

My Theme for the CHANGE concept is LBGT. I picked this because I've known people who have hide their sexuality for a long time and I feel there are many people still hiding away due to family friends and religion.

I found this research and wanted to forward to my blog.

According to pew research centres social & demographic trends project 2017 say - An overwhelming share of America’s lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender adults (92%) say society has become more accepting of them in the past decade and an equal number expect it to grow even more accepting in the decade ahead. They attribute the changes to a variety of factors, from people knowing and interacting with someone who is LGBT, to advocacy on their behalf by high-profile public figures, to LGBT adults raising families.1
(Pew Research Center’s Social & Demographic Trends Project, 2017)
SDT-2013-06-LGBT-0-02 Once again pew research centre social & demographic trends projects 2017 said -   At the same time, however, a new nationally representative survey of 1,197 LGBT adults offers testimony to the many ways they feel they have been stigmatized by society. About four-in-ten (39%) say that at some point in their lives they were rejected by a family member or close friend because of their sexual orientation or gender identity; 30% say they have been physically attacked or threatened; 29% say they have been made to feel unwelcome in a place of worship; and 21% say they have been treated unfairly by an employer. About six-in-ten (58%) say they’ve been the target of slurs or jokes.
(Pew Research Center’s Social & Demographic Trends Project, 2017)
SDT-2013-06-LGBT-0-03Also, just 56% say they have told their mother about their sexual orientation or gender identity, and 39% have told their father. Most who did tell a parent say that it was difficult, but relatively few say that it damaged their relationship.
The survey finds that 12 is the median age at which lesbian, gay and bisexual adults first felt they might be something other than heterosexual or straight. For those who say they now know for sure that they are lesbian, gay, bisexual or transgender, that realization came at a median age of 17.
SDT-2013-06-LGBT-0-04Among those who have shared this information with a family member or close friend, 20 is the median age at which they first did so.
Gay men report having reached all of these coming out milestones somewhat earlier than do lesbians and bisexuals.
The survey was conducted April 11-29, 2013, and administered online, a survey mode that research indicates tends to produce more honest answers on a range of sensitive topics than do other less anonymous modes of survey-taking. For more details, see Chapter 1 and Appendix 1.
The survey finds that the LGBT population is distinctive in many ways beyond sexual orientation. Compared with the general public, Pew Research LGBT survey respondents are more liberal, more Democratic, less religious, less happy with their lives, and more satisfied with the general direction of the country. On average, they are younger than the general public. Their family incomes are lower, which may be related to their relative youth and the smaller size of their households. They are also more likely to perceive discrimination not just against themselves but also against other groups with a legacy of discrimination.(Pew Research Center’s Social & Demographic Trends Project, 2017)
The above charts and information isn't my work but I have ref them.
I thought I would do some history on LBGT and this is what I've found at Manchester collage

I've found some research which I like to bring up about marriage which I'm so happy this was sorted out and legal.

MAKEUP IDEAS

The whole theme here as you can tell from my makeup ideas are of the rainbow very well known in the gay community.

 HAIR IDEAS

Simon has short hair and to become Skyler he needs to apply a wig.

Face chart

FACE- primer , full coverage foundation, press powder.
EYES-  Rainbow eyes with purple dark blue light blue green yellow orange and red
                                                              LIPS - nude lipstick.

 Location

Location : Underpass

I choose the underpass because the reality of the gay community was hidden unlawful and often seen as seedy and most certainly something to be ashamed of , today there is more acceptance in our world. However there are many religions , public services , and homophobia's who will never accept the LBG community. Unfortunately for some being true to themselves isn't a option and they will continue to hide their preferred sexually ad hide in the shadows.

Why I Used The Flag

The rainbow flag 🏳️‍🌈

The rainbow flag was popularized as a symbol of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) pride and diversity by San Francisco artist Gilbert Baker in 1978. ... It is most commonly flown with the red stripe on top, as the colours appear in a natural rainbow. The colours were determined to symbolize: life (red), healing (orange), sunlight (yellow), nature (green), harmony (blue), and spirit (purple/violet)

The flag was wrapped around Skyler , To represent the protection and acceptance that she feels within the LGBT community. Skyler is beginning her transgender journey and becoming the woman she truly is. She no longer hides in the shadows but is embracing the changes and is living a life she could never have thought possible, her hope is that one day she will be accepted in the wider community for simple being herself.

                                                                  NEWS ARTICLE

This is the news article I found about when gay marriage law changed in 2013 so same sex get married :) this was a BIG change in history .

EVALUATION

Today went so well, I really couldn't be any  happier with my work and the photoshoot. I'm in love with my final image its just how I wanted to show the whole coming out to the world how the gay community protect their own and how Skyler become her true self.
There really isn't anything I would change at all.

Third Concept - Live Model On ShowCase Night - 80S PUNK

                                                                   80'S PUNK

Well what can I say - I love this theme as I'm an 80s chick and I wanted to express myself in this theme I decide to do 80s punk because I'm a bit of a rock chick at heart. When I started my research I looked in to bands from that time and Siouxsie and the Banshees came up my mum loved this band they started in 1976 but became really famous in the 80s for their music HALL OF MIRRORS is one of the songs I wanted to share with you.

I've also looked in to black flag they were a hard 80s punk band who were a bit to much for me ... but people loved them.
Ramones are another band - I like them and not forgetting " THE CLASH" but there are really to many to name.

I also looked on how siouxsie dressed around this time and here below you can find my research.

    HAIR DESIGNS

I love both of these looks but I'm going to do a more sleek side back and spiky on top like a Mo hawk because my model has short blonde hair, it will look better and will have more of a 80's punk feel to it .

     PRODUCT LIST

Base- Rimmel 24hour Primer , Rimmel light foundation 101, Setting Powder.
Eyes- Brow Cake Gaze, Mac cream base milk, Illamasqua black eyeshadow, Yellow Eye Shadow Black mascara.
    Lips- Avon Dark Red Lipstick.

    PRACTICE RUN

Here below are my practice runs for this look.  I found it really hard to do but I am still doing this on my showcase I going to take my time and make sure all the little details are right. I think I just need to take my time and not rush. I'm going to do the eyes first because of the drop out from the colours, then I will do the foundation and finish off the whole look.

First of all I started off by applying Rimmel Primer with a flat head brush all over the face then with a fluffy big brush I applied Rimmel light foundation all over the skin of the face. after I finished doing this I applied with a big fluffy brush setting powder.

Then I filled in the brows with brow cake colour gaze with a small angled brush. Next I used Mac cream milk on the base of the eye with a small flat brush.
Then I applied bright yellow eye shadow in the crease of the eyes and winging it out with a fluffy brush.
Then I applied the Illamasqua black to the eye lid and like with the yellow I winged it out. then I applied a small amount of black under the eye . Then to finish black mascara
when it came to finish I put on Avon Dark red lipstick.

                                                                          EVALUATION

I felt I really pulled this out of the bag this year, I wasn’t stressed at all this is because had done all my planning and practise run beforehand, which when you do this  I felt your in control of everything and you can tell you have done your prep. I was so chilled doing this I made sure I didn't rush and I take my time I kepted double checking everything until I was happy with my final look. I loved my outfit and hair designs and I really did push myself on my makeup techniques this year because I didn’t want to do an easy makeup as this was my last showcase. I really enjoyed doing my showcase this year I wanted to remember it all so I made sure I had plenty of time to do my makeup and get my model dressed ready to go.

Second Concept - Post Apocalyptic Fashion Show

                                                  POST APOCALYPTIC FASHION SHOW

When we started the planning for this concept I didn't really understand it. Until I remembered I used to watch a programme on TV called THE TRIBE. The tribe was a New Zealand/British post-apocalyptic fictional TV series primarily aimed at teenagers. It is set in a near-future in which all adults have been wiped out by a deadly virus, leaving the children of the world to fend for themselves. The show's focus is on an unnamed city inhabited by tribes of children and teenagers.
I used to watch this all the time. So I decided to take some outfit ideas and makeup ideas from the programme.
We wanted to do a fashion walk video and we needed to think about an location, as a group we had a long chat and some people including myself thought it would be a good idea to use the old building across the car park.
We went over to check it out and it was great, we had so many ideas so we booked it out for our location, which we were happy with.

I Start to pull all my ideas together for this shoot.

Here below you can see my research

Face chart - Outfits - Makeup Designs -  Hair Designs - Final Images

DAY BEFORE THE PHOTOSHOOT AND VIDEO

After everything was coming together nicely, I thought it would be a good idea to make sure the location was still ok to use because we needed to move some thing around. When I found the guy who has the keys, he had told me that the location wasn't booked out so panic set in .... I asked what did he mean and I was told that we weren't allowed to use it for health and safely reasons ... well the day before the fashion shoot this isn't what we needed .. so I came up with a back up plan - the TV studio its has all pull down lights and steel bars so it really did look post apocalyptic. I found Christina who is a light tech at the college and asked her if we could use it.  I explained what had happened with the last location and she really did pull everything out the bag for us. So on the morning of the shoot Christina pulled out all the metal boxes and rigs and staging and made a piece of art work in the middle of the room for our models to stand on for the shoot and we also used this  for the fashion show.

      My Finished Looks Below

Here I felt I had finished my look but I wasn't happy at all with the end result so I decided to change it because I had to much fall out from the Black eyeshadow. It just made the skin look black and I couldn't get rid of black underneath the eye.  I tried to cover over with makeup but it didn't work and made it look so bad. So I decided to take all the foundation off and started again. I'm so glad I did this because my finished result looked so much better :-).

This was my finished look the above and below pictures. I'm so happy with the end result and I think the whole day went as well as expected. I'm just upset that the 60 second clip of my model wouldn't download to upload on here but I'm going to try and get this sorted some how. I love the end result - all we need to do is edit the fashion show video for the showcase night because this is being played in one of the rooms.

We also took group photo's which you can see a couple below.

    SHOWCASE NIGHT

The post apocalyptic video took 3 days to edit but wow it was worth it and a BIG thanks to Christina for helping us out and pulling it all together it looked fab. On the night the video was played on all the big screens on a loop so no one had to man it. here below is a small clip of what it looked like.

    Practice Run

Here you will find my practice run I have recreated a red smoky eye. When I first did my practice run I did a red smoky eye with a black liner and I really didn't like because I couldn't get a nice straight line so I did take a picture of it anyway. I redid without the liner and it looked so much better. Also I don't like the lashes so I'm on the day I'm going to use different ones.

Below you will see both practice runs on the eye,

Today I did my photo shoot final image for my birthday concept I was so happy with my final image here below you will find it. On my face chart I didn't use glitter which when I came to finish my final look I felt that glitter made my makeup pop. I did a bright glossy red lip and I loved it.

Here are some other pictures from the shoot below -
